Mommy’s tummy’s coming

Well, sometimes Sawyer makes claims that aren’t true. For instance, earlier today he said “Vivian is over there.”, and pointed outside my car window, while we were driving, and into an open field of grass. Obviously, Vivian (our dog) was not in the open field of grass, but instead she was in her crate at home. I had to inform him that he was in fact, wrong. He also tends to answer “Yes” or “No” to questions when he really means the opposite. When you ask him if he wants M&M’s, and he says “No”, you know that he either wasn’t really listening to the question, or misunderstood it.

But, this evening he said something that was not only accurate, but funny. Sawyer and I had just gotten back from swimming, and he was in his pajamas, all ready for bed. Lindsay had been running errands all afternoon and was on her way home. So when he asked where she was, and I told him that she was coming. Then, about 5 minutes later he told me that Lindsay was coming, and then he said, “Mommy’s tummy’s coming.”. I turned around to see if I heard him right and he was grinning ear to ear and started laughing as I turned around. He then asked me to say it, I did gladly (haha), and he cracked up again. Kids are funny.
